Geosystems Engineering and Hydrogeology

1. What has been your most memorable UT PGE experience?

By far, my most memorable UT PGE experience is when I studied abroad as part of the Croatia Maymester program. Several other PGE students, faculty, and I explored every corner of the country – hiking through national parks, swimming in the sea, cliff-jumping, and so much more.

2. What inspired you to apply for UT PGE?

I knew I wanted to dive into the realm of earth sciences, but I also wanted a more technical perspective about this field. As soon as I read that UT PGE was a global leader in geological engineering, I knew the department would be a great place for my studies.

3. What advice would you give to future students?

Stay true to who you are and what you want to learn in life. If geosciences and engineering are a passion of yours, UT PGE is the perfect place for you. Work hard, stay focused, and you will find yourself wherever you want to be.

4. What has been your favorite lesson you have learned while at UT PGE?

The PGE Department has given me endless opportunities to learn inside and outside of the classroom. Above all, I have learned that there is a world of resources, knowledge, tools, and data that are essentially at our fingertips. It is up to you on whether or not you take advantage of it all. Experiment, observe, make connections, draw conclusions, act on and make use of this information.

5. What are your ideal plans upon graduation?

After graduation I plan on continuing my education as a graduate student. I am still figuring out what exactly I would like to focus on, but I have interests in environmental engineering, environmental policy and law, geology, and sustainability. I will just have to see where my path takes me!
