Good news just keeps coming from this department. We are proudly anticipating a new alumni recognition program and an alumni reunion this November.
A group of Petroleum & Geosystems Engineering alumni have created the UT Petroleum & Geosystems Engineering Distinguished Alumni Program (UT PGE DA Program).
Since 1931, when the first two petroleum engineers graduated from the University of Texas, this department has educated some of
the most influential leaders in the oil and gas industry. The UT PGE DA Program will "honor alumni and faculty for their outstanding contributions to the oil and gas
industry and to the Petroleum & Geosystems Engineering Department at The University of Texas at Austin.”
The inaugural UT PGE DA Program will induct six members, including Dan C. Williams, Jr. (B.S.P.E. ’35), Ernest Cockrell, Jr. (B.S.P.E ’36), W. A. “Tex” Moncrief, Jr. (B.S.P.E. ‘42),
Robert L. Parker, Sr. (B.S.P.E. ’44), as well as two outstanding young alumni. Mark your calendars now, the first UT PGE DA Reception and Dinner will be held Friday, November 12, 7:00 p.m. at The Four Seasons
Hotel in Austin.
The PGE Alumni Reunion "tailgate" will be held on Saturday, November 13th just before just before the Oklahoma State football game. The tailgate will also be held at The Four Seasons.
More information about these exciting events will be coming your way in a few weeks, and if that isn't soon enough, contact Heath Hignight, PGE Development Officer. And yes, underwriting and sponsorship opportunities will be available.
We hope to see you in November. Hook 'em!
