News :: Coussons Named Outstanding Student Leader

Each semester, a Cockrell School committee selects an Outstanding Scholar-Leader from among the graduating senior class. To be eligible, the student must have completed at least 60 semester credit hours in residence at UT Austin with at least a 3.8 in-residence GPA. Those are of course, the minimum requirements. To actually win this award, one must accomplish all of these things while being active in student leadership. Catherine Coussons, graduating PGE student and this semester's honoree, (Society of Petroleum Engineers president 2010-2011, First Year Experience Group mentor, Undergraduate Studies Student Council....) did all of this and worked part-time. How did she do it? Smart, friendly, hard working, outgoing--we are confident that Cathy will be a positive force in the workplace, as she has been here at the University of Texas. Congratulations!

Coussons and others
