News :: Sharma, Huh and Bryant Tackle Groundwater Pollution

Drs. Mukul Sharma, Chun Huh, and Steven Bryant were recently awarded $300,000 by the U.S. Department of Energy to study the applicability of using novel polymer microgels for controlling shallow subsurface hydrology during groundwater cleanup. Sponsored by the Office of Environmental Management of the Department of Energy, the project will focus on the problem presented by localized leaks of heavy metals or radionuclides in surface or near-surface process equipment. Once again, congratulations to our tireless researchers.
