News :: Gouldie Recognized by SPE at ATCE

Kudos to alumnus Tom Gouldie, BS PE 1975, who was recently honored at the Society of Petroleum Engineers' Annual Technical Conference & Exhibition (ATCE). Gouldie was awarded the 2011 DeGolyer Distinguished Service Medal. The award recognizes distinguished service to SPE, the profession of engineering and geology, and to the petroleum industry. This award could actually be described as two recognitions in one as recipients of this award automatically become Distinguished Members of SPE when the DeGolyer Medal is conferred. Tom is shown at the UT alumni function at ATCE where he ran into fellow alumnus and CEO of DeGolyer and MacNaughton, W. Gary McGilvray (BS ASE 1970). The award served as the occasion for a family gathering in Denver and Tom is pictured with his mother, Wanda Gouldie and the DeGolyer Medal. Congratulations Tom!
