News :: Image Analysis for Porous Media Short Course and Workshop

The short course and workshop on Image Analysis for Porous Media held on July 12-15, and organized/taught by Masa Prodanovic of PGE/UT, Dorthe Wildenschild of Oregon State University and Adrian Sheppard of Australian National University, has been a great success. 43 students and researchers, some from as far as Austria, Belgium and Czech Republic have attended the short course (aimed at beginners in the field). The workshop that followed was attended by about 54 researchers, and presented the latest and greatest on the image analysis of porous materials and related modeling both in form of talks and a poster session. The format thus allowed for a refreshing mix of young and experienced researchers in the field. Following the workshop attendees relaxed on a Central Texas Tour that took them to Natural Bridge Caverns, Cooper's BBQ in New Braunfels and some swimming at the Blue Hole in Wimberley.
