News :: Patzek to Chair PGE

Tad Patzek, professor of geoengineering at the UC Berkeley, will become chair of the Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering Department effective Sept. 1.

According to Ben Streetman, Dean of Cockrell School of Engineering, "Tad’s combination of enhanced oil recovery research skills with ecology lecturing experience, and wide contacts with academic and industrial communities worldwide will help the department. His experience will expand its leadership role in the investigation of diverse geosystems and new energy sources. He will make the nation’s top-ranked petroleum engineering department even better.”

For more about Tad and his goals for PGE, see the article on the Cockrell School of Engineering website. We are pleased to welcome him to Austin.
