Heath K. Hignight has joined
the Department of Petroleum & Geosystems Engineering as the Development Officer this month. Heath served previously as the Associate Director for Corporate
Relations in the Engineering Foundation of Cockrell School of Engineering. As a development professional, Heath will help faculty and staff create new relationships with funders ranging from corporations to
individuals and agencies, with the goal of positioning faculty to secure increased long-term funding for their research interests. Where appropriate,
Heath will also serve as an intermediary, helping bring together PGE faculty with other researchers on campus and outside the university to support large
multidisciplinary research consortia and initiatives. Finally, Heath will oversee the external relations for the highly successful Workforce Initiative
and work with the department chair and the Dean’s Office in other PGE-focused fundraising efforts. Welcome Heath.
