News :: Gary Pope Recognized with Hocott Award

Professor Gary Pope has been selected to receive Billy & Claude R. Hocott Award to be given by the College of Engineering at the University of Texas for 2006. The Hocott award recognizes, " faculty members who have made significant contributions in furthering the profession of engineering through documented research conducted while associated with The University of Texas at Austin. Of primary importance is that the work of the recipient must have brought significant credit to the engineering profession and been judged most worthy by the recipient's peers."

Dr. Pope, holder of the Texaco Centennial Chair in the Department of Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering, is also the director of the Center for Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering at the University. Congratulations!
