Associate Professor Carlos Torres-Verdín was recently notified that he will be honored with the
Society of Petrophysicists and Well Log Analysts Technical Achievement Award. This
award is given annually to recognize outstanding technical contributions in the fields of formation evaluation and well logging.
Carlos will be given this award at the 2006 SPWLA Annual International Conference, to be held in Veracuz Mexico June 4-7.
Carlos credits the award as a recognition for the technical contributions
achieved by the Research Consortium on Formation Evaluation, which he
has directed for the last 6 years since its inception. Currently, the
Consortium is sponsored by 19 oil and oil-service companies, including:
