Dr. Mukul Sharma has received a $694,000 three year grant from the
Department of Energy. The grant will enable Sharma to improve the 3-D models used to assess
hydraulic fracturing. Anadarko Petroleum will work with Sharma to test the new models, as
will other companies. Sharma's work will make it easier for companies to design more
effective well-fracturing programs.
