News :: Team Energy Turns on the Power

Team Energy, our team of PGE graduate students and faculty runners, has continued to turn on the power, this time at the recent Austin Half Marathon 2011. The attached picture shows graduate students Matthew Roberts, Kelli Rankin, Assistant Professor Maša Prodanović, graduate students Harris Reynolds, Cigdem Omurlu Metin, and spouse and Team Energy shirt designer, Tolga Metin. It was another fun and injury free run; and Dr. Torres-Verdin again ran twice the distance, running the full Austin Marathon.

It is worth noting that between the 3M Half Marathon and the Austin Half Marathon, 6 out of the 8 student runners have completed a long distance race for the first time! That is, they had not run more than three or four miles at a time before. It's quite an accomplishment to progress from three mile runs to thirteen mile runs! Congratulations to all.
