In the 2007 edition of the U.S. News & World Report Rankings for American Graduate Schools,
Petroleum & Geosystems Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin takes the top spot among
Petroleum Engineering departments for the fourth year in a row; for 2007 we are sharing this distinction with Stanford University. The College of Engineering as a whole was ranked thirteenth out of all accredited graduate schools surveyed.
We are quite proud. Specialty rankings, such as that for petroleum engineering, are based on assessments by department heads in
