Dr. Mary Wheeler, who holds the Ernest and Virginia Cockrell Chair in Engineering, works
with the Texas Institute for Computational and Applied Mathematics, and teaches in Aerospace
and Mathematics as well, will add another accolade to her lengthy c.v. The Technische
Universiteit Eindoven chose Dr. Wheeler in October 2005 to receive an honorary
doctorate to be presented at a ceremony in April. In addition to her teaching
duties, Dr. Wheeler is director of the Center for Subsurface Modeling, a member
of the National Academy of Engineering, and an adjunct professor at the
University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. Congratulations, Dr. Wheeler!
