Computers

The Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering Department provides students with three PC computer labs for classwork, e-mail and web activity. Computers in each lab are frequently upgraded to keep pace with advancing PC technology. We have the most current petroleum industry software programs installed for student use which are utilized in classroom instruction and assignments. Open network ports in the student study lounge also allow students to connect their own laptop computers to our high-speed network.

Are you wondering if you need a computer? The University of Texas College of Engineering has a "Laptops for Learning Initiative" which makes it easy and affordable for the UT engineering community to purchase laptop computers. Each year the College sets up a purchase plan for students, faculty and staff who wish to purchase a laptop; for more information, check the College of Engineering laptops site.
