Fun for our House

Connections

Two new books came out that I was waiting for this past week. One is Laurie R. King's The Language of Bees and the other is The Family Man by Elinor Lipman. They were both good reads. I galloped through the King book and went looking for the book before it in the series, thinking I'd reread it (couldn't find it, must have loaned it to a kid). The Family Man however was, if not more fun, more satisfying. I'm actually reading it again before I loan it to Annie, just to make sure I didn't miss anything. I read too quickly, I know that, and it doubtless explains why I can reread things and fully enjoy them again. (Well, not everything, but some things).

I am the departmental librarian for the Department of Petroleum & Geosystems Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. I have had a website listing resources in Petroleum Engineering since June of 1994. Although I can't answer every question that I'm sent (I am not a petroleum engineer, a lawyer, a genealogist or a geologist) I answer "good questions"; this means they are on the topic of locating information in petroleum engineering & I can find the answer from resources which may not be available to you.
