A review of the literature in the area of well test analysis in gas condensate reservoirs was done. The objective of the literature review was to identify potential topics for research in this area to improve well tests analysis in retrograde gas condensate reservoirs.

One topic for future research was identified. Once a condensate bank forms in the region around the wellbore, a knowledge of the near wellbore fluids distribution is required to evaluate the pseudopressure function used in the well test analysis. The proposed research topic is to develop a method to model the near wellbore fluid distribution for cases where a region in the immediate vicinity of the wellbore with high gas permeability exists due to high gas flow rates.

The main research contribution to the well testing area will be hopefully to develop a simple method to obtain wellbore deliverability, skin factor and formation permeability for reservoirs where high gas flow rates create a high capillary number region in the immediate vicinity of the wellbore.
