Marcelia Renae Breaux's report Completion Techniques and Testing of Gas Wells

by

Supervisor: Dr. Mark A. Miller

The optimum production of a reservoir is the goal of every operator in the oil and gas industry. The completion of the well plays a vital role in accomplishing this goal, since it is the operator's only way of communicating with the reservoir. Choosing an effective completion may be difficult, but informed decisions leading to the implementation of the completion can offer a better chance of success.

This study includes a summary of completion techniques and well testing methods available. The testing and analysis of a well is shown and the sometimes difficult task of interpreting the data is shown. Also, an actual well completion is described using some of the parameters from well test data.
