Title:
Skinny Barrels — How Oil and Gas Professionals Can Decrease the Carbon Intensity of the Barrels the World Desperately Needs

Abstract:
Humans around the world need energy; all energy is good energy if it is affordable and improves reliability for a people or group. Oil and gas will continue to play a vital role in the world energy requirements for several decades, but the worlds needs those barrels to carry with them the minimum amount of associated greenhouse gases. Current and future oil and gas professionals have a moral imperative to continue to power the world but must also be technical leaders in reducing the associated emissions. Both surface and subsurface engineers need to be well equipped to take on the challenge of leading in this area.
