SPE Student Paper Competition
About the Event:
The upcoming Society of Petroleum Engineers Student Paper Competition celebrates your technical work. For graduate students, this is your research. For undergraduates, this is often a summer internship or research project. (You may need to seek permission if you worked on a proprietary process.)
The UT Contest:
Students in each division (BS, MS, PhD) will present up to a 20-minute presentation for industry judges. Each student will also answer a couple of questions from the judges. We will ask for your abstract leading up to the contest. The top two students in each division (BS, MS, PhD) will be our UT representatives at the SPE Regional Contest in April.
Beyond the UT Contest:
The top two winners in each division of this local UT round will advance to the regional contest, where we have had good success in the past. Regional winners advance to the International level at SPE’s ATCE in the fall. Our students typically do well and have a lot of fun at the international conference!
