- Paul Bommer
Senior Lecturer
Ph.D. Petroleum Engineering
The University of Texas at Austin
Dr. Paul Bommer has joined us in 2004 to teach the undergraduate production course.
Paul received his Ph.D. in petroleum engineering from the University of Texas in 1979
and joined Bommer Engineering soon thereafter. He has extensive experience in
reservoir evaluation and enhanced recovery design backed by years of drilling
and production practice. His experience with Bommer Engineering includes the
following:

The evaluation and appraisal of
hundreds of oil and gas producing properties throughout the domestic United
States. These appraisals have been performed for a variety of purposes
including loan collateralization, estate and gift tax reporting, litigation
support, and SEC filings.

Expert witness experience with
appearances before state and federal district courts and the Railroad
Commission of Texas.

Involvement in the management of the
drilling, completion, and production of dozens of wells in various Gulf
Coast, Rocky Mountain and Mid-Continent regions.

Responsibility for general company business
management.
Paul has
published articles in several fields including solution mining, beam pump
design, and well log analysis. He has served as an instructor in petroleum
related courses at the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Houston
at Victoria, and at Bee County Community College. He is a Registered
Professional Engineer in the State of Texas and a member of the Society of
Petroleum Engineers, the American Petroleum Institute, Pi Epsilon Tau, Phi Kappa
Phi, and Tau Beta Pi. Working with the Faculty Innovation Center, he recently developed an
animation of a drilling rig for the benefit of his drilling students.
