Martin E. Chenevert holds the Chevron Lectureship in the Department of Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. He holds a B.S. degree in Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana State University, and M.S. and Ph.D Petroleum Engineering degrees from The University of Texas at Austin. He has 10 years of industrial experience with Exxon Production Research, 2 years experience with Exxon USA, and 30 years teaching experience with Oklahoma State University, the University of Houston, and The University of Texas. He has over 120 published articles on the drilling topics of Well Control, Wellbore Stability, Rock Mechanics, Drilling Fluids, and Cementing. He co-authored the SPE textbook on Applied Drilling Engineering. He has served over the years as Expert Witness in many drilling related areas.
